“Block-Master”
Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the best blocker, of them all

We invite everyone with a flair for regional anaesthesia to put their best needle forward.

Send us a 30-40 second video clip of your block and show of those fine needling skills. Here are the rules for the video:

• The video must be downloaded directly from the ultrasound machine – it cannot be a video of a screen whilst a block is being performed.
• The clip must not exceed 40 seconds – the video can be sped up, but must still be clearly understood.
• The video should not have a title that gives away what block is being performed.
• No marking of the targets, no animations, no voice-overs/background music.
The video is to be sent as an email and must be accompanied by the following information:

o Patient age, weight and height.
o Surgery .
o Procedure being performed and incision.
o Block being performed (and if prevalent, the approach being used).
o Needle being used.
o Person performing the block – designation and institute.

Grading will be done by the judges on the following grounds:

• Does the block being performed align with the surgery?
• How apparent is the block being performed, without any context, purely from the video?
• Needling skills
• Target site coverage by local anaesthetic.

We will be running this competition for 3 months, and we will have 3 grand winners.

Kindly send in your entries to aoragarc26@gmail.com by the 30th of May, (30/5/2026).

One winner will be selected and will be awarded ₹5,000.

Winners will also receive a certificate at the main conference
So? What are you waiting for? Put your local anaesthetic where you Nerve is!
