- Understand the physiology of exercise in the perioperative context
- Explore the physiological adaptations to exercise and their relevance to perioperative care.
- Recognize the pathophysiology of exercise limitations
- Identify cardiac, respiratory, and functional limitations to exercise capacity and their implications for surgical risk.
- Learn the practical aspects of performing CPET
- Gain knowledge of CPET protocols, equipment setup, and safety considerations.
- Develop skills in interpreting CPET results for perioperative patients
- Analyse key CPET parameters (e.g., VO₂ max, anaerobic threshold) and apply them to clinical decision-making.
- Utilize CPET for perioperative risk stratification and optimization
- Integrate CPET findings into risk assessment, prehabilitation planning, and multidisciplinary perioperative pathways.
